USA Network’s unscripted competition series, FIRST IMPRESSIONS, featuring Emmy Award-Winner and “SNL” Alum Dana Carvey, has locked in Freddie Prinze Jr. (“Star Wars Rebels”) to host the weekly half-hour battle. The series is set to premiere on Tuesday, May 10 at 10:30/9:30 c. In addition to Carvey and Prinze Jr., FIRST IMPRESSIONS will also welcome an all-star celebrity line-up to cheer-on the contestants; Steve Carell (“The Big Short”), Jay Leno (“The Tonight Show”), Kevin Nealon (“SNL”), Yvette Nicole Brown (“Community”), Tom Arnold (“Sons of Anarchy”), Jon Lovitz (“Saturday Night Live”) and Kate Flannery (“Inside Out”) will coach the aspiring impressionists through a variety of challenges, helping them to hone their skills.
“FIRST IMPRESSIONS gives up-and-coming impressionists a unique opportunity to share their skills with the master,” said Prinze Jr., “I’ve always been a huge fan of Dana and watching him in action, working with our talented competitors, is incredible.”
Carvey is the “expert-in-residence” in this comedic series that pits America’s best amateur impressionists against each other in a battle of celebrity impression. Each week the studio audience will crown a winner. From Renegade 83 and Gaspin Media, Carvey, Jeff Gaspin, David Garfinkle and Jay Renfroe will executive produce.
Prinze Jr., is best known for starring in movies such as “She’s All That,” “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” the “Scooby-Doo” franchise and “Summer Catch.” Additionally, he is the voice of several characters on animated series and video games including “Robot Chicken” and “Star Wars Rebels.” Prinze Jr. was also a part of the cast of the hit series “24” for its final season. This summer, he is exploring another one of his passions with the release of his first cook book, Back to the Kitchen, out June 7, 2016. The book is filled with recipes that pay homage to his New Mexican Roots, his Puerto Rican heritage and his travels as an actor. Prinze Jr. is represented by The Gersh Agency, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Morris Yorn Barnes Levine.
