Scream Season 3 will not be killed by behind-the-scenes upheaval, at least not yet.
Per THR, the retooled third season of the MTV drama will now feature a brand-new cast, new location and a largely new creative team:
Behind the scenes, Brett Matthews (The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural) has been tapped to serve as Scream‘s latest showrunner. (Scream will be his first time serving as showrunner.) Additionally, Queen Latifah, Shakim Conpere and Yaneley Arty will join the series as executive producers via Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment banner. Harvey and Bob Weinstein will remain on board as exec producers via Dimension TV as will Wes Craven, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena and Cathy Conrad. Matthew Singer and Keith Levine produce.
Scream Season 4? Will Scream transition into an anthology series (new story/characters each season) moving forward? The longer-term future of the series is unclear, with everything riding on the performance of the upcoming third chapter. The cancellation reaper already thinks Season 3 will be the last. Who wins? Stay tuned…
