Sky 1 has officially cancelled Ross Kemp: Extreme World after six seasons. The British documentary series will not return for Season 7, the broadcaster has confirmed.
Despite the cancellation, Kemp is hopeful another outlet like Netflix will rescue the series from Sky’s cancellation graveyard, per Digital Spy:
“I’m gutted that it’s coming to an end. But hopefully we can carry on the brand, maybe somewhere else, if someone else will help us and take us on.”
Reflecting on how he learned Sky had canceled the show, he added:
“I found out when we were doing the Israeli film. Look, it’s a decision that’s been made because that’s the way they want the channel to go. I hope it’s not a reflection on our ability to make films. It could be a good thing, you know? Who knows?
Will the likes of Netflix or Amazon save Extreme World Season/Series 7? Stay tuned. But for now, and probably forever, it’s…
RIP.
