FOX has announced its 2017 winter premiere/return dates schedule, with Pitch and The Exorcist both failing to garner the additional episode orders that would have put them in contention for Season 2 renewals.
Both will conclude their 10-episode first seasons in December, putting them within the cancellation reaper’s reach unless something remarkable happens.
Should FOX offer hope with additional episodes, they wont debut until spring, according to Deadline.
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the survival status of Pitch and The Exorcist…

Hopefully The Exorcist doesn’t get canceled. It turned out to be pretty damn good. I didn’t know what to expect after trying to watch A&E’s Damien. Which was just plain bad. The Exorcist is sooo much better. These networks always cancel good shows and keep the ridiculous reality shows. Like we really need 30 some season of the same dumb shows!

The show would have survived with better writers. Bringing the MacNeils into the show (other than referencing them) sealed the fate of the show with purists. We won’t stand for Ellen Burstyn’s legacy to be tarnished. Good riddance to what would or could have been a good show.

What is with Fox? They love to cancel shows after 1 season: Alcatraz, Almost Human, Terra Nova. Let’s give these shows a chance. Especially in the age of “Reality TV” it’s nice to watch a scripted show.

I cannot say I’m disappointed with the series being cancelled. I gave it the entire season, dutifully watching each episode so that I may criticize it fairly. And I must admi–I absolutely hated it!! Why? Because everything that scared the hell out of me from the original, was no big deal hear. Ahh man, like, she’s flying around in the room and speaking like a man. But it’s no big deal, ya know–the whole defying the laws of gravity and physics. It’s stuff like this-though rare-that makes demon possession that much more horrifying. But it’s all second fiddle because you’ve got the demonic equivalent to the super hero’s ‘justice league’, or ‘the avengers’ getting together to plan crimes while breathing ashes made from the organs of dead people (the zombie squad did the grunt work of supplying the organs), so that a member might be lucky enough to breath in a demon from the ash to intergrate with them. Meanwhile the excommunicated renegade, God bashing tough guy, been through hell, seen it, done it roughian priest, convinces mute nuns who perform their own exorcisms–by (and this is a big one that has gotten away from most people) forgiving the demon!!! Meanwhile mom integrated with her demon-who was feeble-like old pervert, and killed her mom. Yep–cancelled. Hopefully
