Expected in spring 2017, Outlander Season 3 has been pushed for a September 2017 release.
While lengthy delays can often be a sign of imminent cancellation, Outlander is a hit for Starz and is already renewed through Season 4, with Season 5 on the agenda.
The drought has been put down to production, per Starz programming chief Carmi Zlotnik:
“While ‘Droughtlander’ will last just a little longer, we feel it is important to allow the production the time and number of episodes needed to tell the story of the ‘Voyager’ book in its entirety, The scale of this book is immense, and we owe the fans the very best show. Returning in September will make that possible.”
Is Outlander as secure as it looks? Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the cancel/renew status of the Starz time-travel drama…

This is such BS! It’s ridiculous we have to wait for so long (especially on the premium channels) between airings to begin with. Then they don’t do that many episodes either. It’s not just Outlander but all of the HBO, SHOWTIME, STARZ, etc channels. Even PBS, TNT, AMC, etc. stations do this.
They all just figure if it’s a good show the viewers will wait. I guess they are right because we do wait for what choice do we have?
But it’s truly a crappy way to treat your fans!!!
