Nashville may have lost a major star, but plans for Season 6 are beginning to burn bright, co-showrunner Marshall Herskovits informs Deadline:
We always start thinking ahead. We are beginning to formulate plans for sixth year.
However, Herskovits has called on CMT to open the creative floodgates and remove the threat of cancellation by making Season 6 official:
But until we have definite word from CMT, there is limit to what we can do.
Will Nashville be cancelled on a cliffhanger, or will the CMT renewal gods confirm Season 6? Stay tuned…

I love Nashville. I think killing off the star will make a great twist to the story line and can’t wait for season six and beyond. Wonderful series. CBS lost a great program.

Nashville aired on ABC prior to going to CMT. CBS had nothing to do with this series.

I can’t believe CMT would save “Nashville” only to turn around & cancel it.
I do hate they have killed off Rayna but now they have, I hope they use it to make some great story! I am not looking forward to the tired old custody battle you always see between the ex & the current husband (Teddy & Deacon on here) because that gets old really fast.
I LOVE this show & really hope CMT will make enough of a commitment to allow the writers to make the show even better!

If they continue in the same genre as this season, I’m done after this season. They have changed the character personalities plus turning the show into yet another political statement has ruined the show for my friends and family and 2 million viewers on CMT verifies that at least 4 millions viewers have moved on.

I lost interest with the crappy changes to Scarlett and all the political correctness crap.

I believe Connie Britton wanted to leave the show. Please renew.

This has been the best season since the show started. I hate they killed off Rayna…but the show has been great. And I say if you dont like it, go back to watching the crap ABC airs.
