NBC is rebooting cancelled cop series Miami Vice, Variety reports:
The project hails from the team behind the “The Fast and the Furious” franchise with Vin Diesel’s production company, One Race Television, teaming up with Chris Morgan Productions, which headed by Chris Morgan. Morgan has written six of the “Fast & Furious” films to date. However, no executive producers have been locked in yet, as deals are still being hammered out.
The original Miami Vice survived 112 episodes across five seasons on NBC from 1984-1990.

George Lewis says
Miami Vice reboot? I’d give it a shot if it’s not sickening like the Dynasty reboot.
Rodney says
I love Miami Vice, would love to see a reboot. Not sure if anyone could be as great as Crockett and Tubbs, but would love to see them try. Hopefully this will be better than the movie, that movie was not very good.
Liz says
I agree with Rodney. Would be interesting to see who they got to play in it.

I’d take a look, for sure, but am not hopeful. Out of 20 new shows, I usually end up scheduling only one or two on the DVR. The other 18 can be terrible. But that said, a lot of television is still light-years better than what passes for theater-release motion pictures.
