After 34 years, the curtain will fall on “The McLaughlin Group” after this week’s installment.
John McLaughlin, creator and host of the public affairs TV staple, died at age 89 on Wednesday. The show is so well-established that it likely could have transitioned with a new moderator at the helm.

RIP.

For the best. John McLaughlin, PhD, SJ, was from an earlier time. Finding a youngster, say 60 or so, to replace him would make it a very different show. Not better or worse. Just different.
Chimpy says
That show was the most boring crap on TV. As you pointed out, his perspective was from the 1950-1960s. Watching him on TV, I expected to hear news of the Vietnam War and Watergate.

I hope Criminal minds doesn’t get cancelled

I’m surprised they cancelled it. I always figured it would go on with a different moderator. I wish they would have had Elanor as a moderator, she has the perfect amount of curmudgeon but not sure she could stay neutral. Will definately miss them all.

WRONG!
(Not about the cancellation — I just needed to hear John McLaughlin say that in my head one more time.)
Bye bye!
