MacGyver is a reimagining of the classic series, is an action-adventure drama about 20-something Angus “Mac” MacGyver, who creates a clandestine organization within the U.S. government where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives. Joining his team on high-risk missions around the globe is maverick former CIA agent Jack Dalton and Patricia Thornton, ex-field agent turned director of operations. At home, MacGyver is entertained by his ambitious roommate, Wilt Bozer. Under the aegis of the Department of External Services, MacGyver takes on the responsibility of saving the world, armed to the teeth with resourcefulness and little more than bubble gum and a paper clip.

Definitely, Renewed 100%, Mac is most certainly back !
I’ve seen previews, and this show is so much better than the original. Even the new theme tune will stand out, and become as equally as iconic as the original did in the 80s.
The people who bicker and protest that this reboot is in some way ruining their childhood, seriously need to get a life. RDA was the first, just like Sean Connery was the first James Bond. But actors come and go, the characters and their adventures live on for a whole new generation and audience to know, love and cherish them also.
Let’s be honest, the original had it fair share of flaws. It wasn’t perfect by any means. And it wouldn’t stand up to today’s standards if the show was broadcast in it’s original state in prime time, in the 21st century.
All this show is doing is keeping the torch for the original show alive. The producers want to honour the original show in tone and spirit. They wish to respect the old audience, while allowing the series to expand, evolve and help introduce this amazing character “The Master of Improvisation” to a whole new audience.

Can’t cancel it fast enough this ’20 something’ re-imaging of MacGyver seems more like he should be on some high school drama show. Should’ve used an older actor with more experience. The ‘resume’ we’re introduced to during the intro would require at least someone 10yrs older or at least looked like they weren’t fresh out of high school. and did it say he was in the military also? when? Used to love RDA’s MacGyver.. this guy isn’t even close.. and plz don’t try the ‘lets make him Mac JR’ reroll..

Huge pile of steaming dreck. Put it out of our misery and cancel the bloody thing before this fake chinned millennial abuses any more paper clips.

This show is garbage, pure and simple. It isn’t Macgyver in anything more than name. Like 99.9% of remakes it sucks so bad. Talentless writers can’t come up with new ideas, and can’t even make a decent copy old ones.
