Amy Schumer has clarified her comments from Wednesday evening in which she suggested Inside Amy Schumer was cancelled – despite having a Season 5 renewal in bank.
In a fresh series of Tweets, Schumer now insists the show “is not cancelled,” rather she’s parking Season 5 for “the next year at least,” while she focuses on other projects, with Comedy Central’s apparent blessing:
#InsideAmySchumer is not cancelled. @ComedyCentral has provided us with a wonderful home and we couldn't be happier there. I am just touring

Doing Standup and focusing on writing more for the next year at least. We are slated for a season 5 but not in the foreseeable future.

I'm grateful @ComedyCentral is giving me this time to work on other projects. Now please grab my book #TheGirlWithTheLowerBackTattoo for now

While the cancellation reaper remains skeptical, as is his default nature, he’ll give Inside Amy Schumer 12-18 months to air Season 5 before wielding his axe.
Will Inside Amy Schumer Season 5 really see the light of day in 2017-2018 – or will the ‘extended hiatus’ turn into an actual cancellation? Stay tuned…
