Showtime renewed Homeland through Season 8, but could that be the end of the show’s run?
Speaking to Deadline, exec producer Alex Gansa says he envisions the show ending after an 8-season run:
The Emmy-winning series’ executive producer/showrunner Alex Gansa is plotting that as the drama’s final chapter. Gansa told Deadline at Showtime’s pre-Emmy party on Saturday that his team would be writing an ending to the series in Season 8. He was quick to point out that it ultimately will be Showtime’s decision when to wrap the series, but indicated that he would be “done” after Season 8, “if I’m still standing.”
With the end date set from a creative standpoint, stay tuned to find out whether Homeland does indeed conclude after Season 8 or whether Showtime extends the show’s run without Gansa and team…
