Gilmore Girls has been revived by Netflix, seven seasons after the show’s cancellation.
The streaming company has finalized a deal with Warner Bros., which sees series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and exec producer Daniel Palladino return to helm the Season 8 revival, THR confirms.
Negotiations with original stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, as mother-daughter duo Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, are under way.
Billed as a limited series, Gilmore Girls Season 8 will be formatted into four 90-minute movies.
The revival gives Sherman-Palladino the long-awaited chance to bring closure to the characters, though it’s unclear whether a popular response on Netflix could result in a ninth season.

I would LOVE to see this happen. I watch Gilmore Girls over and over on ABC Family. I always hated the way the show ended. I mean did Rory do well on the Obama campaign. Did Luke and Lorelai get married? What happened to Logan, did he do well and finally agree to a long distance thing with Rory? It shouldn’t have been canceled the way it was and I think if Netflix does this they will get people like me to sign up just for Gilmore Girls!!!! I need more details!

Fabulous if they can pull it off but I don’t rate their chances of getting the full cast back especially Matt Czuchry and Melissa McCarthy. I don’t think stand-ins would really work.

That’s fantastic. I love Lauren Graham and the rest of the cast. I am only on Season 2 on Netflix. I watched mainly because of Lauren Graham, and missing Parenthood, but the show is great. I hope they are able to pull it off.

They need to continue the shows I love it and they can’t leave us in suspense like they did at the end of the last part?.;-)
