As expected, NBC has cancelled Emerald City after one season. The network has opted not to continue the fantasy drama into Season 2 following poor ratings, RenewCancelTV has confirmed.
Emerald City joins the likes of Powerless and Grimm in NBC’s cancellation graveyard.

I totally agree!

Beyond a joke. Anything and everything that shows even the least hint of quality gets felled by the disinterest of the masses. There was so much to admire in this show and it’s all been spit on.

Quite agree. I thought it was very original and a fresh view. I really enjoyed but as usual the good things always get cancelled
Joseph Bongiorno says
There’s a petition here to save the show: https://www.change.org/p/nbc-renew-emerald-city-for-season-2. I suggest everyone who loves this show sign it and show NBC that we care.

I am so tired of this stupidity of one season and done this was a very original and good show in my opinion and I know several others that felt the same way I just don’t understand the logic of tv producers anymore
faunmax says
Shouldn’t have cancelled Grimm.

Time to cut the cord to cable tv. There’s better original programming on netflix, hulu and amazon.
Pami says
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I was soooooo looking forward to another season! why do they always cancel the good ones?! sigh

This really sucks!!! My Mom and I watched every episode of Emerald City because it was so original. I loved it…..They could at least give us season 2 to close ……instead of leaving us all hanging!!

I’m fed up for one huge reason..i’ve been reading through this canceled list and i watch some but not most of what’s listed here..but i’ve been reading viewers comments and reasons for cancelations ..so many of the canceled programs were not for poor ratings but for things that could have been fixed..so many other people like me and you ,who do a lot of tv watching and rely on tv programming have been kicked in the nads because of writers who most of the time just decide to not continue with their project so they can start another one..only to cancel it also after a few seasons because they get tired of it and want to go on to their newest big idea..Us viewers are being used by these nitwit writers as their tool of convenience..they have a great idea and they stick it on tv..we watch it and become addicted..the writer has another really great idea for a show ..so..he cancels the show he’s spent so much time with for three years(your favorite tv show) so he can spend his efforts and time on his new project..bottom line is he doesn’t care about you or me..just his name and reputation in Hollywood as a successful writer.meanwhile you and me are sadly missing the show we became so attached to ..i liked the name “showhole:..i heard it on an advertisement and it describes the feeling correclty..canceling our favorite show leaves a show hole that must be filled by something equally as satisfying..that doesn’t happen very often..it’s becoming harder and harder to find shows that i can become attached to and want to return to each week with real excitement. or interest..the writers don’t care that you and i have become addicted..they know there’s people out there who will foolishly watch even their crappiest stuff ..they think of they’re viewers as tools to be used at their convenience…this is why you had such good tv shows in the 80’s and 90’s..writers cared!! they relied on ratings and numbers instead of their own sudden ambition and lust for reputation and praise.. they had talent and used it to create something lasting and the people mattered..the people were a huge part of their decision making..NOW DAYS??? we’d better get used to watching something until we’re addicted to it then have it disappear and the icing on the cake is we’ll be left hanging in that last episode.
