Steven Moffat has confirmed Doctor Who has been renewed for Season 10, with writing currently underway, after the BBC quietly re-ordered the sci-fi series for a 10th chapter, expected to air in 2016.
It’s already been confirmed that Jenna Coleman will depart at the end of Doctor Who Season 9, making way for a new companion in Season 10.
Moffat told the Observer:
Well, what have we done lately? I’m proud that we get to the end of [Season 9] and it all looks pretty and is nice. I’m just embarking on [Season 10] and it’s terrifying. I have to make all that again. We got some new writers in who I thought were really great. Jamie Mathieson and Peter Harness, and thank God for voices of new people writing. I love that, having new writers this year. Sarah Dollard, Cat Tregenna, so it’s always good getting people who are new to the show.
