Doc Martin‘s end date has been extended, with the series renewing for a ninth and final season.
Speaking to RadioTimes, actor Martin Clunes says the popular ITV drama will not end with Series 8 in 2017, as initially announced. Instead, Doc Martin will conclude in 2018 with Series 9:
“We start making [Series 8] in spring and it’ll probably be on air in the autumn,” he says. So [series 8] is the second to last.”
RIP.

This is typical, they let slip word of the “final” season which generates news and causes a spike in ratings. The producers have been doing this for years. This series is a cash cow, everyone from the lowest set “go for” to the people of Cornwall are making bucks.
It is a hit world wide. It is not ending, trust me.

i just found this show on hulu and am watching season 2 now..seems like the shows i like have been on for several season already or are already in reruns when i discover them..it’s so depressing to find a show i really like and it ends sooner than not!!! i found “once upon a time” last year and olearnedit had been on for a long time..so i got roku and watched every episode of every season prior to catch up..i had towatch several episodes per day but i did it..and i bet it goes off soon too, because i’ve fallen in love with that show!! Also the blacklist and agents of shield..i’ve learned to really like those immensely..hope they go o for many more seasons, but with the luck i have probably not.

We absolutely love this series: the stories, the character studies, the setting..al of it. There is comedy and drama, and you learn something about health with each episode each episode. we went out and purchased all of the episodes available at Christmastime 2016. Sad they will go.
