ABC has cancelled Conviction after one low-rated season. The network has opted to not extend the Hayley Atwell drama into Season 2.
Having failed to gain an extended run, Conviction will enter the cancellation graveyard after its 13 episode first and only season.
Conviction becomes the second freshman broadcast cancellation, following the doomed path of fellow ABC drama Notorious.
RIP.

And once again, a good show isn’t given a chance. I HATE the stupid networks. They don’t listen to the people anymore than our government does.
Jane says
I agree. New shows aren’t even given a chance but I see all the really Stupid “reality shows” are renewed. This country has truly lost it’s mind!!
Jeannette says
It’s sad but so true! I’m hoping that another network perhaps cable will right this wrong.
KartofflMuter says
Amen. On the plus side-The Ducks I never watched-have quacked up.
Jeannette says
You are so correct!!!!
Carole says
I liked this show and again another one gone just as i was getting into it.
Alan Rushworth says
Me too, thought it was a breath of fresh air. What a shame.
SUSAN BARONE says
I feel the same it was a good show watched it every week also the show notorious was good and they are canceling that who decides and you never no what happens they just leave you hanging why can’t they give you one last show at least and end it the right way.
mel says
fed up with this attitude off not given new shows time to make its mark let them breath first before you drown them
PBEvaluator says
Notorious and Conviction, both with total weekly viewers of 6-8 million, have now been cancelled by ABC. The voters of this country have now spoken “ABC” but it was “Anything But Clinton”. Perhaps the viewers of this nation will also vote, this time anything but ABC Television. The Polsters of this country have had a rude awakening. Maybe its time for ABC Network to do the same. If they are not happy with 6-8 million viewers, maybe they should review competitive shows in the time slot and shows both before and after on their own network, for type of viewers.
Joy M Cantrell says
I totally agree with you. ABC a good station NOT to watch.
Paula sarlo says
I am just getting into this show.GIVE IT A CHANCE.
Its really interesting.i cant wait until the next show.
Please renew it for at least another year.
There are too many new shoes to watch at the beginning of each season,so people pick and choose and often we choose the wrong one.
Please renew.
GinnyD says
Another ABC show bites the dust. ABC doesn’t listen to viewers they cancel all the good stuff and keep their ridiculous sit coms. Wake up ABC you are losing viewers. It was bad enough you cancelled Notorious, last year’s The Family and Agent Carter and now Conviction. You are off my viewing list.

I watched the show, and to be honest I didn’t think it would last. They made it just a little too slick, which in turn made it so unbelievable. A crack team of brilliant individuals is able to exonerate convicts in just 5-days!!!! Plus I think the main problem was the main character…she just is so unlikeable. Now another show that is just a little too slick for its own good is Bull, but in that one the protagonist is very likable…which makes me suspend my disbelief for 60 minutes, long enough to enjoy the show. Just my opinion.
SO says
This was what they replaced Castle with. Serves them right.
Hard to replace that. At least the first 6 seasons.
Jose says
Such a great show. I will truly miss this show.
Dana says
Give these shows a chance. They are pulled too soon. If they’ve already been filmed, show them. Just like “Notorious”. Pulled too quickly. Think I’m moving back to USA channel. Finally get something to watch on ABC, get into them, and they are cancelled. Maybe we don’t need to give ABC a chance.
Viktoriya says
This show is fantastic! I can’t believe they’re thinking about cancellation. So many great shows are canceled after only one season. Recently, Stalker and Eye Candy. Also, Freaks and Geeks. Not to mention all of the shows that end on a cliffhanger and I for one need closure. Please vote for Conviction in the People’s Choice Awards 2017.
leprecaun says
too bad, I really enjoyed this show.
Patti says
This show was just beginning to form and develop its characters. I was enjoying it. I, also, can’t understand why ABC didn’t give it a chance but they cancelled Nashville as well.
Melody Lema says
I am so tired of the supposed educated people who decides what we watch.Cancelling shows so quickly, before anyone seriously has a chance to become a loyal watcher is assine! If they are relying on polls, well, according to ALL of the polls, Hillery should be moving back to the White House. Conviction is a good show, with good actors. Give the writers more time to flesh the story out. With these two shows gone, that will end my watching of anything on ABC. I do not watch any other shows on ABC, not boycotting them. The broadcast channels better watch it, I am spending more than half my viewing time watching Netflix, Sundance.com, Amazon Prime, and other cable channels. I watch Crackle and other methods of seeing quality shows. They better wake up. If you want to hit them where they hurt, write companies that advertise on ABC, and tell them you will no longer support them, since they support a channel that doesn’t listen to their viewers.

“Notorious Cancelled By ABC” is a travesty! I Agree with the posts, made, that the actors were good, story lines relative & portrayed as such, and yet too many FAKE REALITY SHOWS remaining!! OBVIOUSLY, the public wants to live in a Dream World & $s OBVIOUSLY NOT made, to promote this series! SAD!!!
WBF says
MY View of the CANCELLATION of Conviction, is the same as the following statement!! ” New shows aren’t even given a chance but I see all the really Stupid “reality shows are renewed.” As said previously, SAD!!
Efrain says
I love both of these shows, why don’t you cancel the crispy batchelos, can’t stand reality show their stupid. ABC your canceling to many good show, your gonna lose us. Conviction and Notorious are great shows.
KartofflMuter says
I’m still missing the Legal show starring Kathy Bates. I miss the Pan Am show. And The Dome. Modern Family , however-is OVER. It has ceased to be funny and descended into sad irrelevant stereotypes. The old man with the hot chick wife, the real-estate husband with a big helping of sleaze, the driven yet insecure blond wife who absolutely must find a lover or kill this jerk in a murder suicide. The gay husbands, attractive to no one so our minds won’t go there. The smart-aleck asian adoptee-not charming-really not charming. And Hot chick wife with heavy son? Why do these annoying adults have so many annoying children? The Middle had odd (semi-normal) and fairly likable people that don’t make me flip the channel and flip off the characters. Or-do all of you fly to Australia as a herd?
Kevin Lutz says
wow another good show I watch cancelled. what is wrong with these stations. you keep the crappy ones and cancel the good ones.
Michele says
What a shame..I so enjoyed this show.I was wondering why I haven’t seen it on recently. I’m truly disappointed !!!!
Hersee says
I agree about the good shows getting cancelled. Conviction was on tonight(Sun) and from what I read there will be 2 more showing. I am soooooooooo sick of dumb reality shows which don’t get cancelled. Everyone does not live in a fantsy world. ABC in particular always cancelles GOOD shows and keeps JUNK shows.
Bonnie says
So sad that this new series is being cancelled. Such a good show. Makes me want to boycott ABC altogether.
CARMEN PELLEGRINO says
I loved this show what is wrong with you ABC???
CARMEN PELLEGRINO says
Who makes these decisions, nobody asks me what I watch you just put these things in people’s homes and that’s how it gets rated, the nielson probably these people might be told what to turn the tv on to maybe they do not even watch it.
Luann says
This is such a good show and SHOULD NOT BE CANCELLED! Why don’t these networks ever give these shows a chance to prove themselves. Sometimes it takes more than 1 season!
Jayne says
It’s a shame that this show Conviction has been cancelled. This is was great show and if given the proper chance would have stayed on the air…
Like we need another reality show which will probably take its place… Bummer !!
Barbara Hamel says
I enjoyed Conviction and Notorious. They were great shows. I will really miss them. I don’t understand why ABC cancelled them.
Michelle says
I really enjoyed Conviction It was a great show…I don’t understand how you can only give a show 1 season to know if it’s going to work or not…everything deserves a second chance…the show is awesome…it’s a wonderful change from ALL of these sorry reality shows…ABC you’re making a huge mistake…people need diversity when watching television, doesn’t the viewers point of view matter???
SUSAN BARONE says
I enjoyed both shows NOTORIOUS AND CONVICTION. You have to give them a chance. maybe if you try and give them one more season you would be surprised. Just don’t cancel them, if you are so determined to do it give it an ending just don’t leave peoplehanging.
viewers are going to not watch any new shows you put out because they won’t be able to watch the ending if you cancel it.
