Catastrophe is renewed for Season 4 in 2018, but that’s set to be the last in the series, at least for a while.
Speaking to RadioTimes, co-creator/star Rob Delaney revealed that a fifth season of the UK comedy-drama wont happen for quite some time, if at all:
“We sort of think of our spiritual forbear as the Before Sunrise, Before Sunset films,” he says of their long-term plans, referring to the two films starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. “They rather beautifully dip in once every ten years on this couple, and that’s an amazing way to tell a story. That’s not out of the question; [it] wouldn’t be a crazy way to do it.”
Channel 4 insiders confirm Season 4 will be the last of Catastrophe for the foreseeable future:
“We are not expecting to commission a fifth series. At least not for a long time.”
RIP Catastrophe after Season 4…
