NBC has cancelled variety show Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris after one season, there will not be a Season 2, THR confirms.
Despite the cancellation, the network will stay in business with Harris courtesy of a production deal with his banner, Prediction Productions.
In recent years, NBC has made live programming like Best Time Ever and The Wiz Live! a top priority in an effort to lure more live viewers.
But unlike The Wiz Live‘s recent ratings success, Best Time Ever drew more modest numbers. The first of the new broadcast offerings to premiere, the series opened to a 1.9 among adults 18-49 before gradually falling to a 1.3 rating for its eighth and final episode, which aired in November.
RIP.

The problem with the show… was that without NPH it just didnt have the legs to stand on. It was more in line with the price is right and would probably work better there. It was a massive spectacle, and it was fun but NPH. Has way too much talent for something like that and with out him it would just be weak sauce. Sorry

always fun, entertaining. NPH can do anything. with my varied work schedule it was hard to catch every episode, but I’m sad to see it go.
